Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 5/4/2021 and concluded on 5/4/2021. The in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 11 children present and 3 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard 63.2(17)-1720.1-A
Based on review of two staff files, the facility failed to deny employment to anyone who has been convicted of any barrier crime as defined in ? 19.2-392.02 within or outside the Commonwealth. Evidence: Staff 2 was hired by the agency 9/4/2020 and had a fingerprint check dated 9/8/2020 with a "not eligible" status for employment in child care. Staff 2 worked in a licensed child day center from 3/1/2021 to 5/4/2021.
Plan of Correction: Staff person was removed from the floor on 5/4/2021 and was terminated on 5/7/2021.
