Inspector Notes
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A renewal inspection was initiated on 05/28/2021 and concluded on 06/02/2021. The in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 67 children present and 18 staff. The inspector emailed the in-charge person a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 7 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Violations
2Evidence:
The classrooms had cubby shelves that were not secured to a wall, posing a tipping hazard.
The director will go through each classroom and secure any cubby that may pose a tipping hazard.
Evidence:
A 4 month-old child was observed in a crib supine. Staff had placed toy that sat in the crib with its feet on either side of the baby and objects dangling from the arch toy.
The toy was removed from the crib during the inspection. The director will speak with infant staff about what is appropriate for cribs.
