Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was completed on 07/14/2025 as a part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 12:00pm and ended at 2:30pm The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements. There were 44 children present and16 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 13 staff records. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-270-A
Areas and equipment of the center, shall be maintained in a safe condition. There were 3 cribs, one of which was occupied during the inspection that had loose sheets on the mattresses. Loose sheets pose a suffocation hazard to infants.
Plan of Correction: Portable crib sheets that fit the crib mattresses more snug will be ordered.
Standard 8VAC20-780-500-B
Disposable diapers shall be disposed in a leakproof or plastic-lined storage
system that is either foot-operated or used in such a way that neither the staff
member's hand nor the soiled diaper touches an exterior surface of the storage
system during disposal. A staff in the toddler room was observed using their hand to lift the top of the trash can and then dispose of a soiled diaper in a trash can,
Plan of Correction: The director will retrain all staff whom change diapers, the proper way to change the diaper and discard of it afterwards.
