Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 10/25/2021 and concluded on 10/27/2021. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 7 children present, ranging in ages from 3 months - 4 years, with 3 caregivers. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 children's records and 2 caregiver records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations

1
Standard 22VAC40-111-510-A
Based on observation, the provider failed to ensure that a child shall be provided with an individual crib, cot, rest mat, or bed for resting or napping.

Evidence:
1. A preschool age child was observed napping on a couch in the child care play room at approximately 1:15 pm during the virtual inspection conducted on 10/27/2021.
Plan of Correction: A rest mat will be provided for this child beginning tomorrow.
The provider stated the couch seemed more comfortable for the child than a mat on the floor.
