Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 11/10/22. The provider and assistant had 9 children in care totaling 23 points. The children were observed playing and hanging out with friends. The provider has lots of space and supplies for the children to explore.Today the children had French fries, chicken breast, apples and milk for lunch. Interaction between caretakers and children observed during the inspection.

Standard 8VAC20-770-40-C-1-c
Based on the review of the provider paperwork, the provider failed to have background checks for a household member.
Evidence: A family member moved in to the home September 1st, 2022. The provider does not have any background checks on record for the household member. Household member #3.
Plan of Correction: I will makes sure I get the background checks for my grandson.
Standard 8VAC20-800-460-D
Based on the review of records, records for the dog and cats present at the home were not accessible.
Evidence: A current rabies vaccination certificate could not be viewed during the inspection. The inspector requested that the providers household members, who owns the animals, would email the certificate but it was not received as of 11/15/22.
Plan of Correction: I will make sure we submit the shot records of the pets and also keep a record in my files.
Standard 8VAC20-800-60-B
Based on the review of the children's records, the provider failed to have some items required to make the records complete.
Evidence: Based on the review of 3 children's files the following items are missing:
Child 1 is missing the physical
Child 3 is missing the first page of the physical and a second emergency contact.
Plan of Correction: I will make sure I ask the parents for the information and keep the children's files up to date.
Standard 8VAC20-800-960-E
The provider failed to have bottles labeled with child's name and date.
Evidence: The provider has bottles on the counter in the kitchen, none of the bottles are labeled with name and date. One bottle is breastmilk brought from home, the rest are made by the provider as needed.
Plan of Correction: I will make sure bottles are labeled with the name of the child as well as the date.
