Inspector Notes

An unannounced complaint investigation was conducted with the director on July 21, 2023 beginning at 10:32am and ending at 12:42pm to investigate an allegation regarding their age range, areas of the facility are hazard free, and staff-to-child ratio. The There were 37 children, ages 2 years old through 11 years old, in the direct care of 6 staff. The children were observed playing with age-appropriate toys and interacting with staff. Five children's records were reviewed and in compliance. Five staff records were reviewed. It was determined that the allegations regarding staff-to-child ratio and physical plant of the facility were no valid. The allegation regarding the age range was determined to be valid.

Based on observation and interview, the center failed to comply with the requirements set by their religious exempt status as it refers to the age range. Evidence: It was discovered through staff interview, that a child under the age of two years old had been enrolled in the program. The center's statement of intent list the age range as two-years-old to twelve-years-old.
Plan of Correction: The director stated that the child in question has already turned two years old and was enrolled about 1 month prior to her second birthday. The director stated that the facility would ensure that children enrolled were 2 years old prior to their first day of attendance.
