An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 07/11/2023 between the hours of approximately 10:05 a.m. and 10:55 a.m. There were 7 children present with the Provider and 2 assistants for a total of 18 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed working on a craft (paper plate crab), reading and engaging in free play. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and caregiver records, fire drill log, menu, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on observation, topical skin products were accessible to children.

Evidence: There were five bottles of sunscreen in an unlocked cabinet under the sink in the bathroom used by the children. There was a child lock installed on the cabinet, but it was inoperable.
Plan of Correction: I removed the products and fixed the child lock.
