Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on September 23, 2024. The on-site inspection began at 9:30amand ended at 11:15am, The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 78 children present and 22 staff. The inspector reviewed 10 children's records and 5 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility and observations.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-270-A
Areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.
Peeling and chipped paint was observed in room #7 and 12.
Plan of Correction: I will cover up the peeling and chipped paint to make sure the children do not have access to the areas.
Standard 8VAC20-780-40-H
The center shall develop written procedures for injury prevention.
The center did not have written procedures for injury prevention for review.
Plan of Correction: We were unaware we needed to have a written injury plan that is reviewed annually. We review each report as it is written. We will begin keeping immediately keeping a written plan.
Standard 8VAC20-780-440-B
Cribs, cots, rest mats, and beds shall be identified for use by a specific child.
Cots in room # 6 and #14 were not identified for use by a specific child.
Plan of Correction: The name labels keep coming off, we will begin using the number/cot chart system.
