Violations

1
Standard 22.1-289.031-B-5
All areas on the premises accessible to children are free from obvious injury hazards. Part of the fence surrounding the outdoor play area had sharp protruding ends accessible to children causing a potential snagging injury. Children were observed playing and leaning on the fence area.
Plan of Correction: On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM, members of the church?s Building and Grounds Committee completed corrective action to address the violation. Using appropriate tools, all sharp, protruding ends of the affected fence area were bent inward and secured to eliminate any hazard. Additionally, the committee reinforced other sections of the fence to prevent the emergence of similar issues in the future. To ensure ongoing compliance and child safety, monthly fence inspections have been added to the Building and Grounds Committee?s maintenance checklist. This preventive measure will allow for timely identification and correction of any potential hazards.
