Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and a virtual tour of the program.

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was initiated on (November 24, 2021 and concluded on November 24, 2021. There were 17 children present with four staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of staff training records, the center did not ensure staff completed the Annual Virginia Health and Safety Update training for child care staff annually as required.

Evidence:

1. The most recent documentation of the health & safety updated training was dated 12/27/2019 for staff #1. There was no documentation of the health & safety update for the 2020 year.
2. The most recent documentation of the health & safety updated training was dated 12/16/2019 for staff #2. There was no documentation of the health & safety update for the 2020 year.
Plan of Correction: Per the administration: We will have all staff update the health & safety training each year.
