Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was conducted on 09/26/2022. There were a total of 14 children with 3 staff members present. Children were observed during outdoor playtime, painting, and using number tiles. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 3 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method.
Evidence:
There were unlocked cleaning materials in an upper cabinet above the sink, next to the refrigerator.
Plan of Correction: We will make sure cleaning materials are locked and that keys are returned to their hooks.

Based on observation, when staff are supervising children, they did not always ensure their care, protection, and guidance.
Evidence:
Staff A was observed on their cell phone on the playground while supervising 6 children.
Plan of Correction: We will have a meeting to retrain staff on supervision.
