Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 02/06/2024. There were 31 children, ages 18 months-4 years, 6 staff providing direct care and supervision and various support staff present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, staff qualifications and trainings, staffing and supervision, physical plant, programs, emergencies and nutrition. The children were observed in center play, outside large motor play, inside large motor play, and during lunch. A total of 5 children?s records and 1 medication were reviewed; staff records will be reviewed at a later date at the administration office. The inspector arrived for the inspection at 10:25 am and departed at 12:10 pm.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

Based on observations, the center failed to ensure that hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence: There was a plastic spray bottle of sanitizer in the unlocked cabinet under the diaper changing table in the EHS1 classroom. The cabinet containing the cleaning material was not locked to prevent access by children.
Plan of Correction: Will keep the diaper changing table locked.
