Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. There were two children (7 points) present with one caregiver. The children were observed sitting in infant rocker, playing with dolls and the provider sang to the children and read them a story. The childcare area and other areas of the home, training logs, children's records, caregiver records, household member records, evacuation drills, smoke detector/carbon monoxide detectors, menu's, attendance logs and the first aid kit were reviewed. Based on observation, safety waist and crotch straps for infant carriers seat in use with children under the age of 12 months were not fastened.

Evidence:
Child #1 - was sitting in the Infant/Toddler rocker, safety waist and crotch straps were not fastened.

Plan of Correction: During the inspection, the provider did secure the infant with the crotch and waist safety straps.
