Inspector Notes
A complaint inspection was initiated and concluded on 6/9/2023 in response to two separate complaints received by the department regarding supervision and staffing in the toddler classroom. There was a total of 40 children present with 9 staff supervising in the center on the day of the inspection. There were 12 children, 16 months to 2 years old with three staff in the toddler classroom. Observations were conducted in the toddler classroom with a focus on supervision and staff /child interactions. Three staff were interviewed. The toddlers were observed engaged in a variety of activities, to include small group table top activities and play centers, eating lunch and settling on cots for rest time. Staff were observed interacting with children, redirecting behavior, modeling appropriate interactions, serving food, changing diapers and cleaning an sanitizing tables. The inspector reviewed the program's compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 5 child records and 5 staff records were reviewed. The inspection began at 11:00 am and concluded at 2:30 pm.
The information gathered during the complaint inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law. Based on the information gathered, there was not sufficient evidence to support the allegations, so complaints were found to be not valid. There are no violations resulting from this complaint investigation.
