Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on 7/28/2025 and completed on 8/18/2025. The on-site inspection began at 10:15 am and ended at 11:20 am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 41 children present and 8 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records on-site and 5 staff records electronically on 8/25/2025. This inspection included document review, interviews, and observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 8/25/2025. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard 8VAC20-780-240-A
The Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course shall be completed within 90 calendar days of employment. Staff #3 orientation course was dated eleven months after date of employment. Staff #5 orientation course was dated eight months after date of employment.

Standard 8VAC20-780-560-G
When food is brought from home, the food container shall be sealed and clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner. The children's food containers were not dated.
Plan of Correction: Date labels will be placed in areas with lunches.
Standard 8VAC20-780-80-A
For each group of children, the center shall maintain a written record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. The children were divided into two separate groups but there wasn't a separate attendance record for each group.
Plan of Correction: Separate attendance sheets will be with each group.
