8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Child Day Centers

A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 11/02/2022 from 12:00pm to 1:15pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 3 children ages 10 months to age 15 months old supervised by 3 staff. The physical plant, outdoor playground areas, programming, menus, 3 staff records, 4 children?s records, 1 medication with corresponding authorization records, emergency drills, and emergency supplies were reviewed. Children were observed napping, being fed and looking at books. Diapering and handwashing procedures were also observed. There was an adequate number of staff present with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, and Daily Health Observation (DHO) training.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
