Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring was conducted on June 23, 2023 from approximately 2:00pm - 4:30pm. There were approximatley 127 children present upon arrival with 40 staff members. Additional administrative staff were present. Children were observed paticpating in multiple station activities, eating snack and parents were picking up. Ten staff and ten childen and four medication records were reviewd. Licensing Inspector reviewed indoor and outdoor areas, supervision, activities, equipment,
medication procedures, emergency evacuation and shelter-in-place drill documentation, emergency procedures and required posting.

Informatiopl gathered during the inspection determined noncompliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-780-500-B
Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure diapering area was a nonabsorbent surface for diapering or changing; and he diapering surface shall be used only for diapering.

Evidence: In classroom 5, their was one tear on the diapering surface. In classroom 10, there was a two bags full of clothing on the diapering surface in the bathroom. In Classroom 8, there was mats laying on top of the diapering surface. In classroom 7, there was plastic green bucket on top of the mats.
Plan of Correction: A new diaper surface will be ordered.
An email, message in procare and it will be added in the newsletter to all staff about the diaper surface being used for changing diapers and cleaning children only.
