Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on October 5, 2023 from 11:50am-2:20pm. At the time of entrance, 141 children were in care with 19 staff members present. Additional staff was present to assist. The sample size consisted of 11 children?s records and 8 staff
records. Children were observed eating lunch, transitioning to nap time , outside on the playground and freely playing.

Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice.

Based on observation and staff interview, the licensee did not ensure there areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside was maintained in a clean safe and operable condition.

Evidence:
The fence on the the older children playground the gate that seprates the playground had a crack which could cause snagging or pinching point.

Based on observations, the licensee did not ensure hazordous substances shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence:
In classroom 13 and 15, there was handsanitizer that was not kept in a locked place. Confirmed by staff during the tour.

Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure the diapering surface was used only for diapering or cleaning children.
