Inspector Notes

A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 3/1/2023 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A total of 40 children were present with 16 caregivers. The children were engaged in the following: reading books, counting in Spanish, learning to count money, practicing days of the week, playing with bubbles, listening to story time, and coloring green eggs and ham. Programming, menus, emergency procedures, 9 medications, and 5 children?s records and 5 staff records were reviewed.

A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.

Based on record review and staff interview, the center did not ensure that all staff obtain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within 90 days of the date of employment.

Evidence: Staff #5 (Date of Hire: 10/17/2022) did not have current CPR certification on file at the time of inspection.
Plan of Correction: Staff member will not return to work until a current CPR certification is complete.
