Inspector Notes

A renewal inspection was initiated on 1/18/2023 and concluded on 1/18/2023. There were a total of 4 children (9 points) observed with 1 caregivers present. The children were engaged in the following: toy play, blocks and diapering. The home, 2 child records, 3 caregiver/household member records, evacuation drills, and emergency supplies were inspected. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on observation, areas of the family day home are not maintained in a safe and operable condition.
Evidence: A wooden floor plank is missing from the floor directly outside from the bathroom. Another wooden floor plank outside the bathroom is bowed, possibly causing a tripping hazard.
Plan of Correction: The floor will be repaired.
Standard 8VAC20-800-280
Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances, is not stored inaccessible to children.
Evidence: Disinfectants were observed in the bathroom cabinet under the sink, the cabinet was not locked, leaving the disinfectants accessible to the children in care.
Plan of Correction: The disinfectants will be removed from the cabinet to a locked area until a lock can be placed on the cabinet.
