8VAC20-790 Subsidy Program Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 03/29/2023 from 11:25am to 12:25pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 4 children ages 19 months to age 5 years old (8 points) with the Provider and 1 assistant. The programming area, attendance, outdoor area, menus, Provider, Assistant and Household member records, 4 children?s records, 1 medication with corresponding authorization records, emergency drills, and emergency supplies were reviewed. Children were observed participating in lunch time, handwashing, and transitioning to nap. Diapering and handwashing procedures were also observed. The Provider was current with certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid training.
A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
