Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between 12:45pm and 1:35pm. There were 6 children present with the Provider and 1 assistant for a total of 16 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed napping. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, menu, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Violations were found during today?s inspection and can be viewed on the Violation Notice.

Standard 8VAC20-800-280
Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances, such as cleaning agents were not stored inaccessible to children.
Evidence: Various cleaning materials and sanitizers were stored under the sink in the childrens bathroom. The cabinet was accessible to children and unlocked.
Plan of Correction: I will move them today.
Standard 8VAC20-800-320-B
Based on observation child-resistant protective covers larger than 1-1/4 inches in diameter were not installed on all unused electrical outlets and surge protectors accessible to children under five years of age.
Evidence: There was an unused outlet next to the sink in the childrens bathroom that did not have an outlet cover.
Plan of Correction: Corrected during the inspection.

Based on record review the provider did not review the emergency plan annually.
Evidence: The most recent documented review of the providers emergency preparedness plan was dated 9/3/2020.
Plan of Correction: I will do it today.
