Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, interviews and an on-site tour of the program.

A renewal inspection was initiated on March 29, 2022 and concluded on March 29, 2022. There were five children present, ranging in ages from nine months to four years, with one staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of two child records, two caregiver records and two household member were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on observation, the provider did not ensure medication, except for those prescriptions designated otherwise by a written physician's order, including refrigerated medication and medications for caregivers and household members, were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence:
1. Prescription medication was observed unlocked on top of the counter in the kitchen, children were playing at the table in the kitchen.
2. The provider identified the medication as belonging to a household member and acknowledged the medication was unlocked.
