Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 02/20/2024 and concluded on 02/20/2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM. Records were reviewed virtually. There were 57 children present, ranging in ages from infants to five, with 17 staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies. A total of five children?s records and the five staff?s records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined noncompliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Standard 8VAC20-780-240-A
**Repeat Violation**Based on record review and interview, the center failed to ensure staff completed the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course shall be completed within 90 calendar days of employment.

Evidence:

1. The record for staff 2, hire date 1/22/23, and staff 5, hire date 9/25/23, did not have documentation of completing the Virginia Department of Education-sponsored orientation course.
2. The director verified neither staff have completed the course.
Plan of Correction: We are working to bring our team into compliance with this training requirement it is a very long training and takes time.

Based on interview, the center failed to update the inspection from the health department annually.

Evidence:

The most current health inspection the center has is dated 01/09/2023
Plan of Correction: We appreciate the VDH improving the scheduling process and finally have the inspection scheduled the inspection for 3/4/2024.
