8VAC20-790 Vendor Requirements for Family Day Homes

Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted on 8/10/22. There were 9 children (22 points) present with 4 staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. There were no children with medications or allergies present. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on record review, caregivers did not complete the Virginia Preservice Training within the first 90 days of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1's first day of employment was 11/29/21
2. The provider stated that Staff # 1 had not completed the training.
Plan of Correction: The preservice training will be completed and kept in file.
Standard 8VAC20-790-430-A-3
Based on staff interview, the provider did not practice lockdown procedures annually.
Evidence: The provider stated that she had not completed the lockdown drill in 2021, and a drill was also not completed in 2022 to this date.
Plan of Correction: Lockdown drills will be conducted annually.
