Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 2/14/24 from 10:25 am to 11:25 am. There were 6 children (16 points) in care of 4 staff members. The children were observed playing outside, getting diaper changes and listening to a story. Handwashing was observed after diaper changes. There were no children with medications on site. 4 staff records, 2 children's records, attendance, emergency drill logs and supplies, the menu and other daycare postings were reviewed for compliance. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. For any questions regarding this inspection, please contact me at mahrukh.aziz@doe.virginia.gov or 571-835-4718.

Violations

1
Standard 22.1-289.035-B-2
Repeat Violation
Based on records review, the provider did not obtain results of a fingerprint based criminal record for employees prior to the first day of employment.
Evidence:
1. Staff # 1 first day of employment was 12/28/23.
2. Staff # 1's fingerprint results were obtained on 1/3/24.
Plan of Correction: I will make sure that moving forward the fingerprints are obtained before a new employee starts work.
