Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was conducted on 2/3/25 from 10:55 am to 11:45 am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 5 children present and 3 caregivers; the point total was 13. The inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 3 caregiver's records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the family day home, interviews, and observations. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-800-180-A
The provider shall obtain for each caregiver a current report of Tuberculosis (TB) Screening for
caregiver, every two years.
Caregiver # 1's TB screening was obtained in January 2023. A current screening was not obtained since that date.
Plan of Correction: The TB screening will be completed.
Standard 8VAC20-800-240-A
Areas and furnishings of the family day home, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
1. Peeling paint was found on the wall in the area where the cribs are located and on the wall with the thermostat.
2. Standing water was found on a small plastic chair and box in the outside patio where children were observed playing. A child was observed playing with the water.
Plan of Correction: Areas outside will be checked for debris and water before the children go outside. Peeling paint will be removed.
Standard 8VAC20-800-540-A
Equipment used by children shall be assembled, maintained, and used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
A child was observed placed in an infant swing that has been recalled effective October 2024.
Plan of Correction: The swing was removed from the daycare during the inspection.
