An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:00 am to 12:10 pm. There were 58 children directly supervised by 12 staff. The physical plant, 6 staff records, 5 children?s records, evacuation drills emergency supplies, and policies were inspected.

Children were observed participating in group play, circle time, musical movement. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance.

Based on review of staff records, 3 out of 6 records, the applicant did not authorize the center to obtain a copy of the results of a search of the child abuse and neglect registry from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.
Evidence:
1. Staff #1 (date of employment 8/14/2013) central registry results expired on 1/25/203. The results of a search of the child abuse and neglect registry were not obtained for Virginia (VA).
2. Staff #2 (date of employment 11/23/2017) central registry results expired on 1/25/203. The results of a search of the child abuse and neglect registry were not obtained for Virginia (VA).
3. Staff #4 (date of employment 2/2009) central registry results expired 10/25/2022 for Virginia (VA) and out-of-state central registry 4/09/2023 for Maryland (MD).
