Inspector Notes
An unannounced on-site monitoring inspection was conducted on 04/25/2023. There were 26 children, ages 3-6 years, and 4 staff members present during the inspection. The inspector observed the following: free choice activities, large motor play outside, handwashing and snack. A total of 5 children?s records and 4 staff records were reviewed. The inspector discussed the following with staff: orientation, cleaning chemicals, staff record keeping and attending a Phase 2 training in the Office of Child Care Health and Safety. Due to number of violations related to background checks, an Intensive Plan of Correction (IPOC) will be required. The inspector arrived at 9:40 AM and departed at 12 PM.

Based on review of four staff records, the center failed to ensure that no person shall be hired for compensated employment prior to the center obtaining an employment eligibility letter upon completion of a fingerprint background check as required by the Code of Virginia.

Based on review of four staff records, the center failed to obtain the finding from a search of the central registry within 30 days of hire.
