Inspector Notes

A subsidy health and safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted on August 25, 2022. There were 25 children present with six staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Based on review of four staff records, the center did not ensure one staff member completed Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within the first 90 days of employment.

Evidence:

1. The record of staff #3, hired 08/12/2021, did not contain documentation of completing the Virginia Preservice Training, exceeding 90 days from employment.
2. The administrator stated staff #3 was working on the training but had not completed it as of yet.
Plan of Correction: Per the administrator: I will have the staff member complete the training.
