Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts and documents review.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 1/24/2022 and concluded on 1/24/2022. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 2 children present, with 1 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 1 staff record were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of emergency drills, fire drills were not practiced monthly.

Evidence:
There was no documentation to verify that an evacuation drill was practiced in September 2021.
Plan of Correction: I believe the note on the document was written as a mistake. Two fire drills were recorded for September.
Standard 8VAC20-800-90-C
Based on record review, the Family Day Home did not obtain documentation of additional immunizations once every six months for a child under the age of two years.

Evidence:
Child #2's record contains an immunization record that was last updated on 2/2/2021.
Plan of Correction: Child's record will be updated.
