Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated and concluded on April 26, 2021. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 10 children and five staff. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined areas of non-compliance with applicable regulations or law, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the vendor.

Based on record review, in one of three staff records reviewed, the vendor did not ensure that staff have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care.

Evidence: The CPR certification for Staff #3 expired January 2020.
Plan of Correction: The owner will have the staff to complete the training.
