Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between 8:45am and 9:45am. There were 10 children present with the Provider and 2 assistant caregivers for a total of 23 points within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed arriving, washing hands, eating breakfast (pancakes with apple sauce and watermelon) and playing with manipulative toys and blocks. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, menu, attendance and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. There were no medications on site. Violations were found during today?s inspection and can be viewed on the Violation Notice.

Based on observation, potentially poisonous substances, such as cleaning agents, were not stored in areas inaccessible to children.
Evidence: There was a spray bottle labeled "bleach water" stored on a low shelf above the sink in the children's bathroom.

Based on observation, equipment used by children was not used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Evidence: One child was observed seated in a high chair using only the lap buckle; no shoulder straps. One child was observed seated in a high chair without using the shoulder or lap buckles.
