Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 5/18/2023. The provider was present with 3 assistants and 12 children. A total of 28 points. The children were observed working on letters and drawing. All the children went out on the covered patio and played, block play, circle time, reading a book and playing duck ,duck goose. Lots of interaction between caregivers and children. The caregiver are gently redirecting children when they are having a hard time. Discussed contact info for parents regarding child find.
A violation notice was given to the provider with this inspection summary.

Standard 8VAC20-800-540-B
Based on the observation at the time of the inspection, an infant walker is in use.
Evidence: A child was sitting in an infant walker outside on the patio at the beginning of the inspection. An assistant placed another child in the walker after the inspector talked to the provider .
Plan of Correction: I will remove the walker and no longer use it.
Standard 8VAC20-800-830-A
Based on the review of the providers emergency drills, the provider failed to have a drill in May.
Evidence: The April 2023 drill was not conducted.
Plan of Correction: I will make sure I have monthly drills.
