Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:05am-11:10am. There were 5 children (13 points) directly supervised by 2 staff. The home, 2 staff records, 5 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed playing freely and eating snack. There was an adequate supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on record review, children's records did not all contain required information.

Evidence:
Child #3's record was missing the parents' work phone number.
Plan of Correction: They are self-employed, have only cell number, which is in the form.
Standard 8VAC20-800-90-C
Based on record review, the family day home did not obtain documentation of additional immunizations for a child who is not exempt from the immunization requirements.

Evidence:
Child #1's record contains documentation of immunization records that were last updated on 3/15/2021.
Plan of Correction: Already informed the parents. They will bring the correct copy.

Based on observation and interview, the menu for the current one-week period was not posted.

Evidence:
The menu posted was dated February, 2020.
Plan of Correction: It was an old paper copy remaining there, no more in use since years. Now posting KidKare/online.
