Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on June 16, 2021 and concluded on June 16, 2021. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 43 children present and four staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed three children?s records and three staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Based on review of staff records and interview, the facility did not obtain results of the National OBI field-print fingerprint background check prior to the first day of employment.

Evidence:
1. The record of staff #3 (hire date 01/25/21) contained a fingerprint based national criminal background check dated 10/14/2020.
2. Fingerprint based national criminal background checks cannot be more than 90 days old from the current hire date.
Plan of Correction: Moving forward- will be sure background checks are no more than 90 days old before hire.
