Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on July 24, 2023 from10:30am through 12:40pm. There were ten children in care with two teaching staff and two administrators. Children were observed in the classroom engaged in teacher and self-directed activities. Children and staff records were reviewed. Additionally, annual inspections, emergency evacuation drills and the first aid kit were reviewed. The center reports there is not any medication being administered at the time of inspection nor is transportation being offered. A single violation regarding a central registry background was found, was discussed with administration at the conclusion of the inspection and appears on the violation notice.

Based on record review and interview the center failed to ensure that background checks are completed every fiver years after the initial background check has been completed.
Evidence:
The record for Staff #1 contains a central registry finding dated July 6, 2018 and therefore is past due to update.
Plan of Correction: The center requested the background check on July 24, 2023. The center will provide a copy of the findings within 10 days of the date in which it is received.
