Inspector Notes

A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted on 9/03/2024 from 10:00am to 12:00pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 61 children present and 15 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations, and measurements.

A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. Standard 8VAC20-790-600-D-1
Based on review of 5 staff records, the center did not ensure that all staff who work directly with children shall have CPR training within 90 days of the date of employment or 90 days from subsidy vendor approval.

Evidence: Staff #1 (date of hire 5/20/24) and Staff #2 (date of hire 4/11/24) did not have documentation of CPR certification.
Plan of Correction: Staff #1&2 are schedule for First Aid and CPR training on 9/14/24. Going forward new hires will be trained within 90 days of hire.
