Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was conducted 1/13/2025 from 11:30am - 1:45pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 26 children and 9 staff present during the time of the inspection. The inspector reviewed 4 child records and 3 staff records onsite. The inspection included document review, interviews, observations, and a tour of the facility.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations

Standard 8VAC20-780-40-M
The center shall maintain, in a way that is accessible to all staff who work with children, a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions. This list shall be dated and kept confidential in each room or area where children are present.

Child #1 has had confirmed allergies for two months. At the time of the inspection, the allergy chart had not been updated to include the allergens.

Classroom #1 had an allergy chart posted without a cover sheet, exposing children's confidential information.
Plan of Correction: Teachers were aware of child #1's allergies and allergies were posted on the allergy chart a the time of the inspection. Additional allergies were updated. Allergy chart was covered during the inspection to ensure confidentiality. A cover sheet was also added to every allergy list to ensure privacy.
