Inspector Notes

A Renewal inspection was initiated on site on 3/242023 and was concluded with a remote review of staff records completed on 3/31/2023. On 3/24/2023, there were 84 children present, in the program, ages 3 to 5 years old, with 14 staff supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 8 child records and 9 staff records were reviewed. The onsite inspection started at 1:00 pm and concluded at 2:30 pm.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on measurements taken with a digital thermometer on the day of the inspection, 3/24/2023, the licensee did not ensure that restroom areas provided for children have nearby sinks with running warm water that does not exceed 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Evidence:
The water from the hot water taps at the handwashing sinks in classrooms 7, 8, 9, and 10 measured between 124 degrees and 124.2 degrees Fahrenheit using a digital thermometer.
Plan of Correction: Maintenance was contacted during the inspection. The hot water heater will be adjusted to under 120 degrees Fahrenheit before the children return for care on Monday morning 3/27/2023. Staff will assist children, adding cold water as needed, to keep the temperature safe and comfortable for handwashing.
