Inspector Notes
An unannounced renewal inspection was completed on 04/01/2025 as a part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 12:20pm and ended at 3:00pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements. There were 5 children present and 2 staff. The inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program
Standard 8VAC20-780-245-A
Staff shall complete annually a minimum of 16 hours of training appropriate to the age of children in care. The Owner was unable to find documentation that staff received the required 16 hours of annual training for 2024.
Plan of Correction: The Owner said staff have received some trainings, however she has misplaced the documents. all staff will work towards earning 32 hours of training in 2025.
Standard 8VAC20-780-530-A-1
At least one staff in each classroom or area where children are present shall have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as appropriate to the age of the children in care from an organization such as the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety and Health Institute, or National Safety Council. The training shall include an in-person competency demonstration.
Staff #1, #2 and #3 did not have a current certification in CPR from one of the approved organizations that include an in-person competency demonstration.
Plan of Correction: All of the staff took a First Aid and CPR class, however did not realize it was from an organization that is not approved and did not have an in-person competency component. The Owner will sign all staff up to obtain these certifications at first available.
