Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 1:40 - 3:00 pm with the director. There were 23 children, ranging from three years to four years of age, present with four staff supervising. Children were observed playing in the gym, eating snack, and playing in centers. Snack served today: vanilla wafers and apple juice. Three staff records, three child records, the daily attendance record, emergency drill log, and the written list of food allergies, sensitivities and dietary restrictions were all reviewed. It was reported that there was no medication on site however there is staff with current certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT). Based on observation, the facility failed to ensure that all handwashing procedures were followed as required. Evidence: Children did not wash their hands with soap and running water or disposable wipes after eating their snack.
Plan of Correction: Will retrain staff on handwashing procedures.
