Inspector Notes

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:00 am to 12:00pm. There were 10 children (26 points) in care of 3 caregivers. The children were observed playing outside, washing hands before lunch and napping. There were no children on site with diagnosed food allergies or medications. The lunch menu included chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, carrots and milk. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard 8VAC20-800-180-A
Based on record review, the provider did not obtain for each caregiver and adult household member a current Report of Tuberculosis (TB) Screening form,every two years.
Evidence:
1. Caregiver # 1 and Household Member # 1's most recent TB screening was done on 8/17/20.
2. An updated TB screening has not been obtained to this date.
Plan of Correction: Household Member # 1's TB screening will be obtained. Caregiver # 1's TB screening will be scheduled.
Standard 8VAC20-800-320-G
Based on staff interview and record review, an annual inspection was not completed for a fireplace and associated chimney.
Evidence:
1. The most recent fireplace and chimney inspection was completed on 6/28/21. An updated inspection was not completed in 2022.
2. The provider stated that the fireplace has not been in use.
Plan of Correction: The inspection will be scheduled.
