Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 4/6/2021 with an exit interview on 4/8/21. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were five children present, ranging from three years to four years of age, for a total of ten points. The Inspector reviewed two children's records, three caregiver/household member records, the emergency drill log, hand washing procedures, naptime, enhanced cleaning and sanitizing of toys and surfaces, meals and snacks, and daily indoor and outdoor activities. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with one standard that is documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. If you have further questions about this inspection please contact Donna Liberman at 540-359-5244 or Donna.Liberman@dss.virginia.gov.

Violations

1
Standard 22VAC40-191-60-C-2
Based on review of three caregiver/household member records, and an interview with the provider, it was determined that not all household members had Central Registry Search results within 30 days of turning 14 years of age. Evidence: the record for household member #3 (date of birth: 10/26/06) did not have documentation of a Central Registry Search report.
Plan of Correction: Provider stated that a request was made in January, and will follow up and/or submit another request.
