Inspector Notes

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 04/07/2021 and concluded on 04/13/2021. The director was contacted by email to initiate the inspection. There were 24 children in care with eight staff members during the inspection. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed three children's records and three staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

The information gathered during the inspection determined that there were violations with applicable standards or law. Violations were cited on the Violation Notice and discussed with the center director.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Based on record review and discussion with staff, the center failed to ensure that staff receive the required (orientation) training by the end of their first day of assuming job responsibilities.

Evidence:

1. The documented hire date for Staff #3 was 6/14/2019 and the documented date of orientation training was 6/24/2019.
