Inspector Notes

A monitoring inspection was initiated on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 and concluded on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. The inspectors conducted an in person observation at the program and there were 8 children present with 3 staff supervising. The children in care were engaged in various center activities. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 child records and 2 staff records were reviewed. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on observation, the center did not ensure all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.

Evidence: During the inspection on 04/12/2022, the inspector observed in the childcare area a cabinet unlocked containing multiple cleaning and disinfectant supplies with labels "warning and "keep out of reach of children".
Plan of Correction: Site Supervisor will ensure that all hazardous substance are kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access to children.

Based on observation and interview with staff, the center did not ensure when food is brought from home it is clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner.

Evidence: During review of two lunch bags belonging to children in care, there were no dates for each child found. Interview with staff confirmed the lunch bags were not dated during the inspection.
Plan of Correction: Site Supervisor will ensure all food brought into the center is clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner.
