Inspector Notes

A renewal inspection was conducted January 22, 2024. The licensing inspector was onsite conducting the inspection from approximately 10:30am to 12:15pm. There six non-resident children, ranging in ages from nine months years to three years, with two caregivers supervising. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, and medication. A total of five children's, two caregivers? and one household member?s records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard 8VAC20-800-180-A
Based on review of two providers records and interview, the provider did not ensure one provider obtained a current report of tuberculosis (TB) screening every two years from the date of the first screening.
Evidence:
The record for Provider #1 contained a TB screening dated 10/23/2021. Provider #1 stated she needs to obtain a current TB screening.
Plan of Correction: I will schedule and get an updated TB test.
Standard 8VAC20-800-900-B
Based on observation, the provider allowed children to drink while lying down.
Evidence:
A cup containing a liquid substance was observed in the crib where one child was sleeping.
Plan of Correction: I will ensure everyone knows children are not to lie down with any food or drinks.
