Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today between the hours of 9:45 am through 11:15 am. There were a total of five children (11 points) observed with two caregivers. A total of four children's files and six staff/household member's files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: toy play, circle time, coloring, handwashing, bathroom breaks, diapering, and other organized activities. Standard 8VAC20-800-180-A
Based on record review and interview, the provider did not obtain for each caregiver a current report of tuberculosis screening every two years from the date of the first screening.
Evidence:
1. Staff #2's record contained an expired tuberculosis(TB) screening report. Staff #2's record contained a TB screening report dated 11/2/2020.
2. Staff #2 confirmed that the TB screening was expired and that an appointment will be set to get a new one.
Plan of Correction: The staff member has made an appointment to get a new TB screening.
Standard 8VAC20-800-750-A
Based on observation and interview, a diaper cream container was not labeled with the child's name.
Evidence:
1. A container of diaper cream was located under the diaper changing table without a child's name. Staff #2 confirmed that it belonged to Child #5, but had not been labeled.
Plan of Correction: A staff member labeled the container of diaper ointment during the time of the inspection.
