Inspector Notes

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 9/06/2023 from 11:00am-2:30pm. There were 46 children directly supervised by 8 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed eating lunch and during story-time. Handwashing procedures were also observed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on record review, a fingerprint based criminal history record check was not obtained every 5 years as required for 1 of 5 staff reviewed.

Evidence:
1. The fingerprint check results in the record for Staff #1 were dated 8/15/2023, more than 5 years from the previous results dated 2/6/2018.
Plan of Correction: Background checks were obtained and placed in the record.

Based on observation, staff did not sit with children during meal times.

1. Children were observed while eating lunch. Staff were not seated with the children while they were eating.
