During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed.

Inspector Notes

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on 12/02/2024 The inspection began at 11:45 AM and ended at 2:21 PM. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. CDC: There were 133 children present and 22 staff. The inspector reviewed 7 children?s records and 10 staff records. This inspection included:
? document review,
? tour of the facility,
? interviews, and
? observations.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five business days from today, which will be the close of business on December 18,2024. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard 8VAC20-780-500-A
Children's hands shall be washed with soap and running water or disposable wipes before and after eating meals or snacks.
When children were asked if they washed their hands before eating lunch, the children responded and staff confirmed that the children cleaned their hands with hand sanitizer.
Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following:
Reminded staff that children's hands must be washed with soap and running water before and after eating meals and snacks. We also removed the hand sanitizer from the classroom.

Disposable diapers shall be disposed in a leakproof or plastic-lined storage system that is either foot-operated or used in such a way that neither the staff member's hand nor the soiled diaper touches an exterior surface of the storage system during disposal.
Staff in room 4 was observed disposing a soiled diaper by lifting the lid on the diaper disposal system with her hands and throwing away the diaper.
Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following:
Talk to staff about using the foot pedal when using the diaper disposal system at all times.
